Seller: admiralsturdee (504) 100%, Location: Wallasey, Ships to: GB, US, Item: 273552351882 Hello. This is the second 10-day listing I've done on eBay in an attempt to sell the van. If it doesn't go this time I will be leaving it until nearer spring-time to try again. I bought it in August 2017 as a replacement for my previous camper which was a T25.As I had hoped, this one is a considerable improvement on the T25, but unfortunately the combination of taking early retirement with undertaking expensive repairs to the van (now all complete) are kicking in and so both the T4 and my beautiful BMW R100GS motorbike are having to go to make way for vastly cheaper alternatives.Since I've had the T4, my priority has been to set it up for the foreseeable future with regard to its structural and mechanical integrity. I'm very pleased with how it's all come up together, but it has been a lot of work and expense to get it to this stage. As part of the programme of improvements, I have fitted a 100w solar panel which feeds in to a new AGM combined starter/leisure battery. An expensive option, but I learnt long ago about the perils of buying cheap. There are the usual set-ups with regard to cooking, cupboards and toilet facilities. I have modified the cupboards up top to make better use of the space and to simplify it all. The van is set up to run my Waeco CDF26 coolbox (see previous comment about the price of quality), but I will have to achieve the full asking price to let that go with the van. Sorry, but it would hurt to have to buy another one of them. In case you haven't discovered it for yourself, I can assure you that a £50 12v coolbox is so bad as to be a waste of time.I've tried to illustrate the flexibility of the design of the Autohones' interior in the pictures. The seat/bed is able to slide virtually the full length of the interior, as well as being removed completely.Another aspect that I like is how many of the cupboards are still accessible regardless of whether the bed is down or not. I have removed a couple of cupboard doors to further improve this feature, but they will come with the van should the next owner feel the need to refit them.No matter how wonderful the camper van aspect is, the bottom line is that the base vehicle is a 25 year-old window van, and I have never forgotten that during all the work that I've undertaken. It has many new parts, including flywheel and clutch, driveshafts, cambelt etc., and the fact is that I could sit here all night describing why this is such a good van.One of my things is to keep all mechanical parts standard. I like keeping the spares situation as easy as possible. I have never found the idea of trying to explain my modifications to a Slovakian VW dealer very attractive. The van was retro-fitted with a turbo by TB Turbos at some point, but it's a lovely smooth and simple conversion that I've been very happy with. I really like the little touches like the fact that the spare wheel is a matching VW official alloy, or that the externally-accessed roof locker allows you to keep tools and spares etc. out of the van.In return for a smooth and pleasant transaction, I am happy to deliver the van anywhere to the buyer, for the cost of my return travel to New Brighton on Merseyside. That way, you'll only have to come here once, and you'll get it safely home without the worry of taxing and insuring it. I know there's loads more points (all good), and I'll update the listing if any come to mind. I am happy to answer any specific, sensible questions or supply extra pictures if required. It is a lovely van and I'm sure the next owner will be delighted. Cheers. I knew I'd forget stuff. Some of the van's features includes... -Propex gas heating system-Underslung waste (grey) tank. It was the fresh water tank, but I changed it all around for what I think is a more sensible option. -Fresh water now pumped from inboard 10 litre container.-All lighting now leds, including the original VW interior lights and reading spotlights. -Both front seats on swivel bases. -2 X gas cylinders. -Heavy duty rear springs fitted. -Currently has original VW cassette radio (to allow me to go through all my old tapes), but CD Radio available. -Wind-out awning fitted. -Original driver's handbook pack. This is a simple, straightforward van. It has a facility for mains hook-up, but it's set up so as not to need it, which is how I like it. I would recommend doing your research and looking at as many vans as possible. Other helpful advice I am happy to pass on for free is to leave your rose-tinted glasses at home, take a good torch, and if you find yourself thinking "that will be alright, I'll get that sorted", consider looking at a few more, just in case. This one is at the 'standard original camper' end of the spectrum, as opposed to the 'custom' style popular within the VW scene, just so that you know.
